At Groove Diplomacy, we hold to the belief that music and life are one, so we have created programming for musicians and non-instrument playing participants alike. Through practical application, we have evidence of the fact that music is not strictly for entertainment, but to build communication, empower and heal.

LaFrae Sci, Groove Diplomacy Founder, is available to lead, originate, collaborate, and curate workshops and educational programs. She has an extensive background creating effective and transformative experiences on a global scale. She has implemented potent music programs in Guatemala, Siberia, Russia, among many other countries, and throughout America. Previously, LaFrae was an educational consultant for Jazz at Lincoln Center, curriculum writer and director of JALC’s Middle School Jazz Academy Brooklyn Chapter; she has spearheaded multiple programs at the legendary Apollo Theater; she is also a founding teaching member of the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls in N.Y.C.; and she has served as a guest clinician for Carnegie Hall. She brings to her educational work a historical grounding in a variety of cultures; 30 years of working as a professional musician; and a deep understanding of community and curriculum building.
